Canada and Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) Canada, were announced during the 15th Clean Energy Ministerial in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, in October 2024.

This year’s awards were presented by Joanna Osawe, President and CEO of Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE), during two key events: the “Shaping Tomorrow: Women’s Leadership and Social Inclusion for a Just Transition” event, co-organized by the Equality in Energy Transitions Initiative and the Climate Investment Funds, and the official CEM Awards Ceremony.

The goal of the Equality in Energy Transitions Awards is to honor the achievements of individuals and organizations making meaningful progress toward advancing gender equality in the clean energy sector, and harnessing the power of the energy transition to build a brighter, more inclusive future.
