The Equality in Energy Transitions Initiative undertakes activities in the field of awareness-raising, education and empowerment of women in the energy sector. Equality in Energy Transitions also collects and exchanges qualitative and quantitative data on gender equality.
The work is divided into so-called “workstreams”. The Equality Initiative has 5 workstreams. These are ongoing activities without a fixed ending date. Every workstream is managed by one or more country representatives and optionally coordinated by the IEA. All countries need to participate in the data collection workstream and optional in further workstreams. A workplan with clear activities and outputs is defined for each workstream and is steered and adjusted in the biannual meetings of the Executive Committee.
