On 1st of March from 17:30-19:00 (JST), the Japanese-German Energy Partnership Team will host an on-site event on “Women in leadership in the energy sector” at the AHK Korea (Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry) in Tokyo. Please note that it will not be possible to attend the meeting online.
Currently only one in five leadership roles in the energy sector are held by women, according to the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report 2022. Although studies show how important (gender) diversity is for innovation and good business, the energy sector is still a male dominated one. Building networks, empowering and encouraging women is therefore of vital importance for diversifying the sector.
For this event we invited two inspiring role models from the energy sector to speak about their experience, share their (success) stories and answer the audience’s questions about their work in leadership positions: Ms. Dr. Kathrin Goldammer, CEO of the Reiner Lemoine Institute and Member of the German-Japanese Energy Transition Council and Ms. Mika Ohbayashi, Director at the Renewable Energy Institute.
