6th – 7th July, 2022

On the 6th – 7th July 2022, the Energy Geographies Research Group is hosting a methods workshop for Postgraduate Researchers and Early Career Researchers whose research is associated with energy.

The workshop is open and of relevance to researchers at all stages of the PhD and beyond – from those just developing their methodology and those out in the field, to others who are analysing their data and writing up their methodology chapter.

Each day will cover a different set of methods, which will run in parallel, providing the opportunity to develop your skills and understanding whilst engaging with other researchers using similar methods at similar stages of research design. You are welcome to join for two days if you are interested in a few methods, as long as they fall on different days.

Each day follows the same structure – a keynote speaker, participant introductions through short presentations, method discussions, opportunities for co-learning facilitated by a researcher with experience of the method, and a reflective panel session where researchers reflect on their experiences of using methods, providing tips and tricks not mentioned in textbooks and answering any questions posed.

When registering for the event you will need to specify which session/s you are wanting to attend, to help work out which session will be of most use to you please see the summaries provided. If you’re unsure please get in touch and we’re happy to help!

The event is free to attend but if you’re attending in person you’ll need to cover your own transport costs/accommodation if staying over. Lunch and refreshments will be provided to those attending in person.
